E-card for Humairah's aqiqah

I know this is not included in my portfolio but as client requested it, how can I not say yes? Especially to this cute little face?

Siti has been my customer since day one. I did her 1st blog design with Krafty Blog Design whic I'm gonna write about it in another entry.

A few days ago, she wrote me another email requesting for an e-card for her baby's aqiqah and cukur jambul. I was thrilled and excited to accept the job! Another work that I can add to my portfolio! :)

She has specifically explained to me what she wants on the cards. As you can see here, it's paisley deco with pink/cream or purple/silver in color.

So I came up with both colors for her to choose.

 the poster in pink

the invitation e-card in pink

 the poster in purple

 the invitation e-card in purple

This are just the draft copies. Of course there have been changes on the colors etc.

I really had fun making these e-card. Exploring new ideas and creativity. In case you were wondering the price:
 e-card with photo : RM35
 e-card without photo : RM30
 2 e-cards with/without photos : RM50

For your information, I don't do any printings. I will only send you soft copies for you to send it for printing or for you to print yourself.

So if you like what you see and wants the same for your wedding/engagement/birthdays/etc, feel free to drop me an email! :)

For the love of a chandelier

I love chandeliers. I fact I have one in our living room just for the sake of displaying it and hardly using it. :P
I find its shapes and forms are such an inspiration.

Current job status

Alhamdulillah, within 1 month, I have received 2 blog designs which involved me to design the whole blog which means from header to footer. I must admit that designing blog really is so much fun and it could completely made my day :)

Not to mention a current request to design wedding favors for her up coming wedding. This is obviously not included in my portfolio (yet!) but I'm so excited for this new task and accept any challenge as a learning process.

I'm so honored to be given such a responsibility especially to be part of the big event.

Therefore, any new orders will have to wait until I have completed all these tasks (don't want to be greedy though :P) which is probably early March. I too have to juggle between motherhood and a full-time job :)

At the meantime, feel free to drop me a line if you have any queries. You can still email me for orders but the job will only start on the early March.

Thank you and have a nice day!

The design process

Usually when a client requested for a blog design, I will start with doing some sketches on my sketchbook and trace it using Adobe Illustrator. All the coding and html changes will be done in my test blog called Thepurplecanvas which is restricted for public view :)

Once all the designs are done on the test blog, and if the client is happy with it, those template will be downloaded to my pc and I will send all those templates to the client for them to upload it to their blog. It's a very simple steps to do and of course, I will guide you through it :)

Below is a sample of a recent job completed on my test blog (mind my photo at 'About Me' widget) .

(click on the image for larger view)

1. Header
2. Pages (Navigation tabs)
3. Customized post title fonts
4. Customized sidebar title fonts
5. Background

Normally for me to come up with a design, client's input is really helpful especially on getting what the client's wants for their blog. But of course, I you have no absolute idea on what you want, I will always here to assist you :)

Here are some samples that maybe helpful in designing a blog :

1. Design styles (I have put up 2 types for you to choose, Modern Design and Modern Photos)
2. As for modern design, some ideas will be like floral, simple shapes, shopaholic's icon, shoes, cars, anything!
3. Preferred color scheme (pastel, bright, contrast, mono, etc)
4. Lastly of course, whether you want a package, ala carte (header, sidebar titles etc).

The design process will take about 2-4 weeks to complete. The simpler, it is, the sooner we finish! :)

So tell me, how do you want me to beautify your blog?
